Z-News Notes: Mar 3, 2014: About a month ago Becky Garrison wrote a brief article and posted it on Religious Dispatches. ("American Atheists Launch Super Bowl-Themed Hail Mary"). It had to do with an billboard that was placed to take aim at the Superbowl. The 14' x 48' foot billboard below included a link to AA's national convention website that will feature keynote speaker Chris Kluwe, a former NFL punter and noted LGBT activist. I was more entertained by one of the comments: "Personally, I think the money could have been better spent supporting local Atheist and Humanist communities, or putting on Atheist/Humanist events....." That, to me, is like one of those "we will have to agree to disagree moments" which emphasizes that there are two distinct perspectives on the issue of Christian versus Atheist. How so? I cant count how many times I have heard someone (including me) say of a church or ministry sponsored event it was not heard "I think the church could have put that money to better use, or helped out someone who needed it, etc."
